I was not really all that much aware of how much does is this ongoing warfare costing the U.S. But one tool I just came across today at Cost Of War really struck home for me the magnitude of expenses related to running a war.
Putting all the political and moral questions aside, any money savvy person can easily understand that bleeding money at such rate can’t be good for anyone concerned. Sure the U.S. is still the biggest and richest economy in the world and, as it stands, I don’t think there is anything to change about this fact for decades to come. But seeing the tens of thousand of dollars just ticking away by the minute is sending shivers down my spine.
And than, there is another comparison readily available to be drawn from these war related costs - how much more could have the U.S. government increase the living standards of its citizen, had they allocated similar funds to other areas of need such as public education, kids’ health and the like.
Anyway, looking at the dollars ticking away, lets just hope, that there is something really beneficial for EVERYONE involved at the end of this war.
